How to Rig and Fish

Rigging on a Jig Head

Insert the hook point through the center of the bait’s nose. Guide the hook through the body and bring the point out through the back.

The bait should sit straight on the hook. Reposition it if the body bends or twists because a crooked swimbait may roll during the retrieve.

Steady Retrieve

Cast the swimbait, allow it to reach the preferred depth, and retrieve it steadily. A faster retrieve generally keeps it higher in the water, while a slower retrieve and longer sink time allow it to travel deeper.

Lift and Fall

Allow the rig to sink, lift it with the rod, and let it fall again on a controlled line. This provides an alternative presentation when fish are holding closer to the bottom.

Fishing Around Cover

The included jig heads have exposed hook points and may snag in dense grass, brush, or wood. For cover-oriented fishing, pair the bait with a compatible offset swimbait hook purchased separately.
